((<< Disco, Techno, Retro all UNTZ >>))

My buddies went to this Euro run and really enjoyed this Berlin show including lunch at the hotel with band and crew. Full portions of splattums with your choice of 12 sausage links 12" in size. This bar holds 11 people. But it's really a neat little spot. Don't bother with the crowd tapes, too much German chatter. The SBD is not the best...pretty bad. Oversaturated, No soundstage, sounds like gravel and the separation is null, sound is "tinny". It sound like a matrix at the most(hollow snare) Anyway, the music will take you where you need to be :) (I am appreciative that they did record although...a permanent sentiment.

The Caves is good, it ain't April 17-2009 or Feb.19-2010 but it does what it needs to do, set a rhythm and pace to bring us to an epic Orch. Also the dark and drippy layering Mags lays down is nice and Barber is reserved and patient. Orch starts with a bang and just gets better. Before they fall into Buddha Marc and Sammy have a nice little conversation that turns into techno jam Sprocket style. Buddha is pretty good but nothing mind blowing but the ~> into Abyss is muy bueno. More techno, round and round we go but alas Barber cranks open the 54-T pedal and puts it to 8. Nice ambiance on the first "solo" seg. It's getting really fun now! End of set jam?? ECSTASY!

The boys join Microstar to open the second set with a really fun jam...for them. This only becomes good (IMO) when he leaves and the guys pick up the jam. It's OK. TBH, I am not / wasn't a big fan of SOME of the opening but mostly halftime choice to spin and DJ over the years. Not talking about the Brothers Past, Lotus, Liquid Soul bands etc.. I never really like too much EDM and the like when straight trippin the electric or herbified to the outer limits; but drunk, or mdma? couldn't care less. In those days we were doing liquid and 4-way every other night. Electric For Life! We must keep our scene psychedelic imo. It's important to keep reinforcing that pillar of strangeness between us all so we can grow, heal and take adventures all the while improving our inner dialogue, the way we speak to ourselves and overcome addictions.

the last few minutes of the opening jam gets a nice groove for itself as it enters an INCREDIBLE... Shem-Rah Boo - Marc basses his way into the opening of Shem. Very nice start, the drum pad is busy! The party starts at around 4 mins-ish when the beautiful bass lines are joined by a louder, more expressive Barber without the rush or "having" to be in a certain spot. OK, from 10mins through the beg of Spaga there's an interesting jam. ~> Spaga - I like this version because the jams are long and focused plus Allen slays this version (pls listen from 10:00 through 13:00 for a percussion master class) straight ahead, no prisoners Spaga. Very nice. ~> Cyclone - great "end of the show" vibe going hard and heavy. The middle to end section has a great groove. Simply good music, anyway you look at it. ~> MORPH : good stuff here but you have heard it many times. Still, Biscuits fans don't let other Biscuits fans fast forward through tunes. I believe that is rule #6 in Neckbeard's 10 commandments.

I like this show but don't love it. It's simply too untzy and techno garble for me. Old, crusty boomer author? Plus, the sound is caca.

rating : 7.0/10 or B

For this dance floor, edm vibe we are going to enjoy strains that get you energized with good and clean medicine. Also, you may feel more aroused and euphoric. You don't need much to find Pluto with these. Enjoy! [Pineapple Fanta] yum-me! high thc count alongside a very clean "come down" energy to spare. Golden Pineapple and Jet Fuel Gelato were crossed to make this. Also, I have heard than in smaller amounts, this is excellent for depression and shitty cases of the blues. and/or [Grape Romulan] this hybrid is of medium strength in the low to mid teens in THC. You'll still get blasted. This stuff make you more mellow than a Buddhist on Xanax. If you ever wanted to know how music tastes like...try this!

Peace to you!

The intro section for Caves here is way too drawn out, and pretty damn close to outright boring. The jam out of Caves is similarly boring. The band recovers with a solid jam in the middle of Orch Theme. This is nothing too out there, but is a nice, dark, well-played trance jam. I’ll take it. The jam out of Buddha is mostly a filler jam, but there is a portion around the 3:21 mark in the Abyss track that sounds really cool. Sounded almost like Magner was going to launch into a techno version of Another Brick in the Wall, but instead this just goes into the beginning of Abyss a minute or so later. Magner’s synth is all screwed up in this version of Abyss, and it is out of sync over and over again during the composition, which is frustrating.

The jam to begin the second set is not that interesting to me, initially. I know people love to gush about this jam, the DJ segue, etc. I always feel like jamming over a composed techno track feels like somebody playing along, uninterestingly, to an already-finished product. This really gets better when Microstar has dropped out completely, and by the 14-minute mark of the Jam track, only the band is left. This last 9 minutes is what I’m actually interested in hearing. They have some really solid portions of this, but there was nothing in here that I was absolutely blown away by. For a segment which gets so much praise, I feel like a lot of the praise comes from the novelty of this, and it is admittedly unique in that regard, particularly for this era of the band. The jam out of Shem-Rah Boo is again, very solid. In fact, I may even like this more than the intro jam. This is primarily a driving trance jam buoyed by Allen and Marc, and Barber shows fantastic patience throughout. They touch on a few different themes, each of which I found myself enjoying very much. The first Spaga jam is the typical drum and bass minor key jam. This gets a little frenetic at times but overall I actually didn’t mind this. Not in love with it mind you, but didn’t actively dislike it. The second jam mostly goes nowhere until they hit the intro jam for Cyclone. This is all type 1 after this, and while I wouldn’t normally care much for this much of a type 1 jam, this was so, so good, and the peak they build (and subsequent drop) is so phenomenal that I’m noting this as a highlight. If you like the huge peaks they were doing into cyclone around this time, this is for you. The jam out of Cyclone couldn’t be more forgettable, although there’s a weird moment where Magner is using some very quiet sample, or maybe somebody is just talking slightly away from the mic? Either way, weird. The Morph jam is basically a Buddha ending jam almost immediately. Well played but forgettable.

Highlights: Orch, Jam*, Shem-Rah*, Spaga (2*)

Segueing in from the Microstar set, you can hear Jon come in with minimal guitar a little after the 8 minute mark. One by one, Aron, Allen and Marc join the fray as they play along with the psy-trance track. By about 12 minutes tdb are playing by themselves, the vibe of the Microstar’s set remaining extremely prevalent. Around 14:20, Jon adds a graceful melody on top of the edrum-heavy groove, but it's somewhat brief, as they quickly refocus on the dancey minimalism being crafted. At the 18 minute mark, Barber brings another new melodic idea to the table and the rest of the band latches on. Moving together as one unit, Marc tips their hand, but only slightly, with his slap bass line at 22 minutes. As their final destination starts to come into focus, the descending melody becomes more recognizable, but they’re still not ready to show their hand. Pushing this set-opening jam to its limits, the band dances around the melody of Shem-Rah Boo with dexterity and patience, before finally dropping into the song over 25 minutes after the jam began.
