Floodlights jam is pretty mediocre, and doesn’t do a whole lot for me. They drop immediately afterward into Pygmy. The jam out of Pygmy into Lunar is mostly solid, but this is just too short for me to ever really become noteworthy. Give it a little more time to breathe. The jam out of Lunar, however, is phenomenal. During the first few minutes, Magner has some great phrasing and melodic choices, and later on, his swells add a very nice dimension. I felt the end of this jam lost some steam, but the first few minutes are absolutely worth checking out. The jam out of Lunar does nothing for me. This is fast and trancy, but with very little to draw me in. There is an extended Jigsaw first jam which is aimless dub. Pass. Ten Ton Foot is obviously jamless. Fiddler has an extended type 2 jam, a rarity for this song. I don’t find this version as good as some others (full disclosure, I’ve seen this called best Fiddler ever). This just isn’t thematic enough for me to be in that conversation, and while it’s great, I don’t think it’s best ever. For me, that’s still 04/26/06.

The jam out of Jigsaw into Shelby has solid parts (particularly the first minute or so after the switch to the Shelby track). However, this is a LOT of water treading. Also this is a really weird Shelby peak. Barber does a whole lot of wailing and soloing during the peak, but he literally does not play the Shelby peak. I had to go back and relisten to confirm I hadn’t somehow missed it. It’s one of his best riffs, so this is a disappointing omission. The jam out of Shelby into Ladies develops into this weird, off-kilter jam. This is really neat, and has a pretty unique sound. They go from a DNB jam to a breakbeat jam to a dance jam back into the Ladies peak. Magner is absolutely fantastic as they near the Ladies return. The peak here is great as well. Highlight of the show, right here. The Humu jam begins with Magner using the xylophone patch, and he switched to a pure synth lead as the band departs the island sound and heads toward a darker dance theme. This is a solid jam into the end of Helicopters, though I’d honestly have preferred they continue the island sound as I love a great Humu jam. Overture encore is meandering and forgettable.
