Q. How many Biscuits fans does it take to screw in a light bulb?

A. 7. 4 to hold the ladder, 2 to watch it burn out and 1 to tape it. (would be my opener in the Catskills)

A superb New Years Run, this tremendous effort was at the amazing Avalon, across from Fenway. Another New England landmark that was home to an absolute endless menu of great bands through the 90's. Only 7 hours from my house. I saw a 5 hour show there in the spring of 2001 of Project Logic w. MMW plus Club d'Elf. One of the best psychedelic-jazz-fusion-funky-triphop ever.

{jam-in~>Munchkin Invasion~>Aquatic Ape(unf)~>Kamaole} 42 minutes from set one. + {Shem-Rah Boo~>Down To The Bottom-~>jam-out} 37 minutes from set two.

These 2 superb sections, totaling an hour and nineteen minutes divided into 2 jams in each set, are my 2 of the best segments of the year imo. Underdog: "Safety Jam"! At least half of this show is some extremely hot, focused and less meandering Biscuits jams and segment that 2004 offered. Tons of type 1, Mags' new keyboards and some serious rehearsal time. It's like they wanted redemption for the "downward curve" that many were discussing. The corn was loosing it's pop.

Probably Sammy's best final run of his time left at this point. Although night 1 Sonar in May, 2nd Night in Slayerville in March & 12-30 would like a chance at the title. Deservingly so.

9.0 / 10 Very fun show. Would be a fantastic remaster possibility.
