S1

SBIO jam is a swell opener. Dub Dribble has a fine enough Apple Butter Toast jam. This eventually swells into a faster paced jam. I don't think there's much "special" about it. The drop > Lunar is absolutely wonderful, though. Then its pretty quick back to a Dribble jam. I don't think there's anything wrong with either Dribble jam, but I don't think there's much mind-blowing jamming going on. The jam eventually picks up a nice pace to > Confrontation. The jam out of Confrontation is dialed in from the get-go. Magner has some very nice touches to this. The band is in a comfortable space here. Barber is very patient. This is very dancey and fun. This is followed by a nice tension jam between Barber and Allen which is pretty drawn out before dropping back into the dance groove they had going. Not bad! They shift out of this to build for the peak that heads to Sven. I've seen better versions of > Sven but this is fun enough.

S2

Running opening S2 now after having opened S1 just a short week ago. With so few tDB shows, its a reasonable shock to hear this again as a set-opener so soon. Anyways... The jam out of Running is patient to start. Magner's choice of sounds is perfect here. They build on this and Magner moves to the piano. Barber starts a more driving theme. The band is fully locked in here. It's remains very chill and psychedelic for a bit. Magner starts some really cool swells that add to the psychedelia. This is some really great biscuits. Magner is thriving. Allen leads off a more upbeat version of these same themes. This doesn't last particularly long before they're back in a pretty laid back space which is quite fitting and enjoyable. Magner starts some swells and Barber starts a nice blissful riff. The band builds here all while keeping such a great laid back vibe. I mean... I think all my friends would've been super blissed out at this, to be sure... and the > Sound One. My goodness. What absolute beauty. The jam out of Sound One has a little more gusto to it, though there's still this overwhelming laid back attitude to the music. This becomes very psychedelic in nature. Everyone is really dialed in. Barber is absolutely feeling this jam. Rightfully so. A smooth > makes the way for LSD. They break away from LSD proper and Magner is using some newer sounds. Brownie on midi. This is pretty dark, but is a nice contrast to what's come before this point of the set. They really stick with the same theme for the majority of this jam. Barber comes in at the end and adds a really nice touch to what they have going in LSD. The > to Neck Romancer seems to happen more that the ideas ran out on LSD. Which is fine. The jam here isn't going to blow any minds, but that said it isn't bad by any means. Barber and Brownie are actually dialed in here. This sorta fizzle's out where we hear Brownie and Allen for the most part. Then Magner and Barber lock in briefly before it becomes a pretty standard dance groove which then kind of becomes a neat little bliss jam. This eventually darkens a bit to become I Feel Love and honestly, this is quite sick, despite what it may look like on paper. And the band is loving it. Magner eventually comes in with these angelic sounds. Barber builds on this to a nice enough peak which > Sound One.
