The 2nd set is killer. Especially the "Mellow Munchkin ~> Anthem " section. For I , this is one of the best Biscuits shows from Covid era Biscuits. AKA C4.0
The future is making us invest into quality sunglasses.

Caterpillar begins the show with a solid groove from Barber and Brownstein. Allen uses a few e-drums in the start of this jam, and Magner relies heavily on his croaking frog arp. This jam is not breaking any new ground necessarily, but it’s really solid nonetheless. I think when Magner adds in the sidechain-y pads, this goes up another level, and they lock into a very nice dance groove. The Tempest jam has some very solid parts as well. Again, this is nothing outside the box, just solid dance jamming. I feel like Brownstein sticks with his call-and-response bassline a little too long, but other than that this is generally good all around. The Freebis jam gets a full extension that turns into a very cool jam. This morphs into a really neat jam, and from there they segue so flawlessly into the end of Caterpillar that you almost don’t even see it coming. Very good stuff.
I’m underwhelmed by the Dribble jam to start the second set. There were parts of this that felt like they might be headed for something like A Fifth of Beethoven. The Running Into the Night jam is the highlight off the show for me. Barber begins this jam with a great effected tone here that sounds like a square wave. This gets so cool and digital, and I have no clue why he wouldn’t use this tone more often. This has so many great moments, and is a great digital jam. Barber, Magner, and Allen are MVPs here. Brownstein holds this jam down, but the other three are the real stars here. The Munchkin jam has some really haunting stuff, and is again very Magner-centric. The Anthem jam is basically a Munchkin ending jam from the very start. While I’m not usually down for this type of extended type 1 jam, this has such a unique feel and sound to it. Normally Munchkin jams aren’t this laid back, or this piano-heavy. This is really neat, and I love it (even as a type 1). Worth relistening to if you enjoy Munchkin endings. The Helix jam is one I really want to like. It has a lot of Magner messing around with cool patches, but I feel like this just never hits the next level. If felt like this had a ton of potential, but never does it for me. The Anthem middle feels forced, and we go straight from that to the ending of Helix. Meh. I prefer the original Konkrete. This jam out is okay, but nothing all that special, and the Spraypaint ending is not great from Barber.
