Astronaut has a short but sweet jam. This is dark and dissonant the way an Astronaut jam ought to be. The Abyss jam is also solid. Just a standard dance jam that works well. The Spacebird jam is fairly boring. Not a lot going on here. The jam out of 42 and back to Spacebird begins with a dark theme that I wish they’d have expanded upon more. However, they nail the ending of Spacebird at least. Trucker’s Choice is jamless.
Paul Revere is awful. The Bazaar countdown is pretty neat. We’re Not Gonna Take It turns into a dance jam as it leads into a joyful Helix peak. Pretty good. The Helix jam has a neat Blissco theme before turning darker and returning to Bazaar Escape. Munchkin features Marc teasing Solstice. This is again, dark and ominous, and mostly very cool. Jam into Basis intro doesn’t do much for me. Standard Basis intro. The jam out of Basis turns into the middle of Bazaar in a kind of clever way. This is not a jam per se, but a neat segue. The jam out of Bazaar and back to Basis is fantastic and features some unbelievably cool phrasing from Magner. There’s another tease of Solstice from Marc and Magner. Caterpillar’s jam is generally very solid, but the Caterpillar ending is very well-played by everybody. Marc is still not fully committing to the Eb, but he at least mostly played the Eb here which is nice. Therapy into Orch Theme for the first time was mindblowing at the time, although looking back, this is basically a straightforward major key jam into an Orch Theme intro jam. Nothing too crazy going on here. The jam back to Therapy is solid, but not memorable. First Spaga jam is very good as far as DNB jams go. Second jam is type 1 and forgettable.
