Highwire > IRW is standard. No part of 42 > Abraxas > 42 does much for me. A lot of this is dark and digital, which I would usually generally like. However, here they just never really lock in and it feels a lot like they’re just sort of treading water until the transition to the next song. The first Spaga jam is unusually interesting. This is a little repetitive, but it’s dark, ominous, and well-done. I like this a lot.
The jam to begin the second set is a straight-up ambient noise jam, and I’m fully in favor of them doing this whenever they want. Very cool stuff. The CWB jam has a portion that sounds like they are going toward the end of Kitchen Mitts, which would legitimately be very cool. Sadly, they do not. As much as I want to love the Moshi-Fameus-Buckets jam that replaces the Confro jam, this just doesn’t do much for me. The Abyss jam was mostly monotonous with not a lot going on, and both AC2B jams are in much the same vein. Therapy encore is jamless.
Highlights: Spaga (1**), Jam**
