<< great googly moogly! no wonder they made The Trance Fusion Radio Broadcast. I'll say it again for the 4 people reading this; 2002 is the spiritual growth and extension of 2001. JUST AS GOOD., just more blow.....jk Marc Brownstein. When the jokes have settled and we take a breath, this is one hell of a New Years run and this show has it's moments.>>

- Always Be Willing To Forgive And To Forget The Occasional Uninspired Jam -
The opening ''Rock Candy > Morph Dusseldorf'' (yes the jam is not in the key of Candy and seems like a different entity but it's 4 minutes and imo should not be labelled as a jam. A jam or an instrumental no huddle section has to be at least 7-8 minutes. No biggie. They wrote it down on the setlist paper (in the photos) so it's up to Marc (he has always bveen the main setlist architect, with input of course) 'RC' gets a good stride as they often do in 1.0 jams / w. Sammy, 3/4 into the song. It gets to full throttle at around 10 minutes in a pertty little up up and away blissco jam into......
- Dorph Musclesmarinara' GREAT DROP IN!! I can see those long board shorts bopping up n down from Marc as he pronounces: "All social situations, he handles like a dream A chameleon in space and form, in color too it seems The ability to not be seen, though you see him everywhere"" genius abstraction. That Morph can outrun 'em all. Lots of the boogie untz in the middle jam section pre-""Morph, morph from Dusseldorf"". You can hear them onstage planning, playing, laughing...a good sign. I like the repetitive looping dance beats when done well (90% of the time) because you see it's a sign they are in a different reality, the 8th Bardo if you will, time has slowed down...therefore the step the musician makes to 'solo' is a decision that was made in the beauty and interest of the song, not a filler. Not a world-destroying 1st section of these 2 tunes but pretty good.
- 'Overture' - damnit Sammy! hi-hat, kick drum and a poppy snare. turns out this is way more difficult of a drum beat that you might think. Miss you Samuel !!!!!!! ps- standard with a fairly exciting ending.
- "Crystal Balls"" - so you Americans take all of our quarters for the tolls,eh? Well, well, well. That it! Foot is down....no more free trade. :) In an 8 minute Crystal Ball what can they do outside of the song's main structure? not much. This feels like a "let's get loose set" -- ''Reactor ~> Rock Candy(aka crack)" Nihilism. Is this the theme of Reactor? Justification for starting things anew through rapid and sometimes by 'shocking' means? Perhaps an opinion and or reflection on the arms race of yesteryear? At the 8 minute mark, they embark onto a very cool psychedelidisco groove that really defines 1.0 approaches to jams. Very fun and well made groove. They finish off the set with a 'Rock Candy' reprise.
Set 1:: 7.3 / 10
Set 2: Ok, set 2 is the part of the big bowl of ice cream when it gets to the perfect point of half-melted, shiny, a tad soupy and just a dream.
- 'Spaga' > Reactor ending' you want an incredible Spage from this time that will give you nipple contraction? go straight to Oct.27 from the Locust in Philly to end the first....wow. As for this? They had 3 openings where you really though the genius would take over and on sheer talent & guts some magic would grow from the soil....alas, no one watered the garden. Average. Reactor ending is what it is.
- ''Rave The Microdots" > "ACDC" worst Robots ever. .... no jams, a complete abandonment of the song.
- "AC2B' - thank you Lord. We need you ac2b. Crank it. 1st jam: caught in that untzy loop, over and over. Rather hesitant. But wait! At 5:30 ish, they have a pocket and use it. Pretty fresh jam leading into Mr. Magner's portion of the song. This is the best section of the song as the 1.0's generally are. Cruising for burgers jam, relaxed yet on point and very attentive of the others. The final half oft his tune is very good. By the way, go to Aug. 18 of this year for a ridiculously great AC2B. It's a standalone version sure to give you a positive energy push into what ails ya. The last half is so very good that I believe it gave them all the confidence and happiness in order to play the best segment of the night as well as a home run......terrific 35 minutes of that juicy 1.0 bLIsScO.
- ''M.E.M.P.H.I.S. > Save The Robots(unf) > Spaga'' There is definite gusto from the start. Not just by the nature of the song but also by the band giving a puck and wanting to end on a strong note, for everyone's sanity. Brownie's deep n' delicious bass is the usual steel beam keeping this great song on track. Nothing different here as the others add some great licks as they choose. Not every jam / groove / section has to a peak teary-eyed beauty. Scars are cool. In all honesty, this ending section is fn' marvelous!!!! What fun :) and we are but halfway through this 17 minute veal parm. Well, I guess this is a tale of 2 parts to a song. The great 1st half and the final half? Nothingburger hold my pickle. I don't know what's going on...Mandela effect? In my notes as well as memories from listening to this show since around 2005, I gave it a B / B+ but now, it all changes, a new perspective. weird.
- 'StR' ''Save the Robots from Themselves..." onwards is the portion they play here (9:30 in length). Lovin the Sammy and Barber jam. It's real funky and when Magner steps up and repeats that nice 3 note keyboard input over and over, it's delightful as it helps keep the engine running all the while the others are waiting for a good stream of consciousness to flow through them and into their instrument. A nice jam ends the tune nicely as the show ends with the ""Spaga"" ending.
- 'Spaga' - standard. a short but sweet keyboard jam near the middle was pro. ENC:: Sister Judy's Soul Shack ~> Hot Air Balloon Do not pass go. Great encore on paper and yes, it is well played. I think they "awoke" somewhere in the 2nd and by the time they were a unit again...the show was ending. Anyway, do not miss the encore. Barber owns this encore, especially during "Judy's" ending jam.
Set 2:: 7.75 / 10
Mandela Effect in effect. I used have the notion this was a barn burner. Strange. Not bad per se just not Biscuits 1.0 "our hard work is paying off" type Biscuits show.
{{Strain of the Day to recharge and move forward, always with dignity and the knowledge that you tried your best.
[Cookie Crunch] a fun hybrid that crosses the popular GSC with Capt. Crunch. It's a creeper. This medicine doesn't let you down as you come down....it gently takes you into her soft hands and hands you a gallon of Ben & Jerry's 'Half-Baked' ice cream.
