Track Notes

  • S1
    Story of the World

The first part of the theme is tense and exploratory, but the second is a fist-pumping conclusion. A contender for strongest standalone version.

  • S1
    Mindless Dribble

The theme that forms in the first part of the jam is utterly captivating. Once the Dribble hits finally come in, the jam builds to a frenzied Dribble ending. Probably Barber’s best Dribble ending since 3/27/99.

  • S1
    Shem-Rah Boo

Covering tremendous ground, the jam begins with some tasteful Barber/Magner interplay before giving way to a blitz of acid synths. After the eight minute mark the jam mellows out considerably, but Sammy's four on the floor beat keeps things moving forward. A simple trance line from Magner underscores the lamenting cries of Barber's guitar. After a second crescendo at 13:30, the jam dissolves into haunting atmosphere, breaks down, and rebuilds with extreme patience into a Hope intro.

  • S2
    Floodlights

A hypnotic trance jam that incorporates some breakbeat flourishes as the theme breaks down into a slower groove, before building back up to a large crescendo that melts into a News From Nowhere intro.
