Incredible way to open the Spring Tour with a 3 song set 1, 40min Shocked which went places & didn’t get boring. Doorbell came out strong showing early on that it was going to be a big song in ‘24. Set closer was a fantastic Helicopters! People can say they’re sick of it, but every version they play is barely like the previous one. 2/9 in Boulder was a high octane blazer, this one was 20m+ of jamming & weaving in &o it of different teases before coming to a fiery conclusion, an excellent version along the lines of 9/26/21, 8/18/22 & 6/14/23 for a great yet different ones.

Set 2 started off with a very patient yet uptempo Shimmy that really hit hard at 14m & continued building for 10 more before sliding into Abyss. Very smooth transition & this is always a good pairing. Relatively short but sweet, it slowed down to prepare for a rare Pimp Blue Rikki. A lot of friends love this song, I find it can be great or just a DnB jam, this one was solid & they played it well before turning up the heat & building towards a blistering Crickets peak. Always like this song inverted or with a big build up, but who doesn’t besides the Crix Funk enthusiasts. Another fluid transition & continued a very good set. Crix Funk crowd got there’s before it got going again to build to the Shimmy ending which was the right call for a set closer. For an encore we got a rare song that’s also a favorite of mine. After 1 play from fall ‘21 to the month before this show, Down To The Bottom made a very rare standalone encore appearance & they played it like it had been in the rotation, didn’t miss a beat with high energy & barber shredding to close an awesome tour opener. I go back to listen to this & the next night often, do your ears a favor & give them both a listen.
