The Shem-Rah jam to start the show has very solid energy. This never got beyond “Nice, that’s cool,” for me, but it’s a good way to start a show. Tribulations is about the same. Not bad, not remarkable, just a solid, solid jam. The PBR jam is another solid dance jam. Still not breaking out into anything TOO interesting, but Magner has some really solid lead lines here. The Strobelights jam turns into an all-out trance assault, with the band firing on all cylinders. This is a clear notch above the rest of the (already solid) show thus far. Rivers has a straightforward jam that’s not great. The Caterpillar jam doesn’t do much for me. They get stuck in a weird repeater jam that I hate. The Voices jam gets stretched out significantly and turns into a nice dance jam before dropping into Sweating Bullets. I don’t think this is necessarily bad, but feels like it stretched on too long for what it was. Sweating Bullets has a few different themes, and the one around the 14-minute mark has some great major key jamming. I don’t think this quite gets to where I’d relisten again and again, but it’s not awful.
