Brownstein switches off the MIDI keyboard very quickly in this jam, which is a shame as I thought he was actually doing fine on it, which isn’t always the case. This ends up being a great decision as the band develops a really nice dance jam here. By no means is this outside the box in any way, but the band locks in pretty nicely, and includes Barber on some nice little strummed chords rather than the usual minimalist single-note riffs. Neat. First Spaga is the usual throwaway DNB jam. Not much to see here. Second jam takes a minute or two to exit the Spaga 2 jam riff, but eventually gets into an uptempo dance jam. This winds up getting the long, drawn-out eerie patch treatment from Magner, and while I don’t dislike this, the portion I do like just doesn’t last nearly long enough to make me want to go back and relisten. The drop back into FT is out of nowhere, not in a good way. HSR is a song I love, even if the band seems to hate it. First Crystal Ball jam is forgettable, and the drop into HDPF is atrocious. Second jam is much better, and Barber and Magner have some nice interplay here that works really well. This is a relatively short RLH. The intro jam lasts all of 3 minutes. The ending jam has Magner on his xylophone patch, and this has a nice, almost dancy island vibe at times.
Highlights: Feeling Twisted, HDPF (2), RLH (2)
