~~the meat~~ another 2003 nugget

Tight Morpheldorph to open up, a great spot with good energy.

Not only is the Basis around 45 minutes, it has an extended jam(sorta) in the middle which is great and really shines hard on Barber and Mags. The outro jam is relaxed and pretty sweet. Love this Basis.

The Candy~>Mag Jam is good but in comparison to the vibe being created, is an average section. Until....

Crix. The redeemer. If it isn't the jam of the night then it's a close second. The dyslexicness of the version gives you this heavenly jam pretty soon after takeoff which was a perfect choice.

Not the best show of the spring CO run but this section here makes it damn interesting. The Resurrection jam meeting the entrance into Bern & Chas is mesmerizing and the only better part is departing it towards Voices. The psychedelic nature of this slow tempo jam is very patient with Barber really articulating what he wants to translate effortlessly. Jon and Sammy are ridiculous. So beautiful.

A good chunk of '03 shows seem to peter out at some point in the second; sometimes in the first! I remember that quite a bit when I was there live in 2003-04 and on the DATs but not this one. Although the ending chunk 'o funk is only around 12 minutes at the most, it packs a punch...or at least a well placed jab. The Crix jam into Crack is heavy but not a mess. It could have derailed but Barber is having a nice night!

Love Love Love the GIG encore. No complaints. And those who do need to find perfection somewhere else.

A solid 7.5 / 10 - There is a gorgeous matrix of this show with front rail 4023s as the crowd source, at a 70% SBD to 30% AUD ratio. Smooth, like strawberry ice cream.

For meaty '03 shows a little less "known", go to the mini 3 show New England run portion at the end of November. Yes, the summer has an amazing JULY...wow....great, even monumental month in Bisctory. And the Boston then 2 in Hartford will always be close by to my stereo. The 3rd show was the funnest 2003 indoor show I saw (IMO). Triumph with horns and a stupendous 'Shem ~> DttB ~> RLH'

Much Love!
