^^ Celebration New Years Run after such a magical year....and that Dribble! ^^ ps - TECH WARTS are present during Vassillios, IMan and Mindless Dribble but don't skip the show due to the Gremlins in the power supply. They do recover.
Nice editing by the transfer person from the masters after some power outtages. Beware of 'Vassillios' pops and a couple more later. Also, the volume does climb up and down on occasion but if you can deal with that, you will hear the genius behind the frustrating tech problems. Maybe they didn't ask the venue their dB limit is. Or too much smoke lol.
You won't see much as far as negative interpretation as every song here deserves merit, even with a slip here and there, you'll always find value in each song tonight.
'Vassillios' does get cookin' with Crisco after the tech problems in a very nice way but only the final 5-6 minutes. Great outro jam with that Sammy momentum as they land on I-Man on time and glad to get out of the bad tech mojo on Vass (?)
Very decent I-Man in your typical 1.0 25% faster version. I must say, I adore Sammy the MVP on most of the I-Mans. What that man did with just his snare and kick drum is remarkable. Nice trippy key jam that whips up the frenzy a little. Jon and the Doctor get into a sweet syncopation. Some would call it a standard 1.0 I-Man in most sections but I think it deserves more cream puff than that. It sort of peters out but it is enjoyable
{the following section is the night's powerhouse; one hour long} 'Mindless Dribble > Hot Air Balloon > Mindless Dribble > Hot Air Balloon'
'MD1' - a slow n steady beginning. The juice gets loose around 5 minutes in or so as they build tempo, eventually through the halfway point the most gorgeous mid-tempo jam restarts the band into an incredible direction!! Pure beauty. That sorta jam where perhaps in your mind's eye you see a hang glider swooping across the sky or powder skiing. Marc is setting up the transition as we near the end that's for sure. Such a rad creeper jam. ~>
'HAB' - a good standard version. The 1st jam is tasty but nothing too insane so far. Nearing the 7 minute mark, Mr. Mags initiates a very nice grand piano led groove that is eventually handed off to Barber who takes the bliss level up a few notches. Great mid to 3/4 way through jam! The ending heavy space rock jam is very cool. ~>
'MD2' - juicy funk drop into the second dribble part. it sounds familiar as hell but I can't seem to put a grip on the somewhat familiar section to start out. We like! 3 minutes in !!! Ohhh shit! Triple time and away we go then....// ker plunk...the tech monster rears it's ugly head a few different spots. After making the decision to finish off the section, Jon keeps the mood playful, says a few words, and they proceed to resume at the final lyrics...This MD > HAB > MD > HAB is worth saving! Magner ends the tune as usual and fly up for the last round of HAB ~>
'HAB2' - The opening jam that eventually gets going is extremely good. Some incredible drumming and bass is at full feel-good as they enter the final chorus. "And in one day. He went from his cell to the skyyyyyyy"
When you consider the momentum killing power outages, they absolutely slayed this set.

'Floodlights' ~> 'Basis' - "Peaches en Regalia" tease in 'Floodlights". This great 45 minute combo is so different from all other years. Very tasty licks by Magner as he sets the mood behind the strumming, rhythm guitar and powerful bass. Electronic jungle psychedelia. It gets nice and trippy halfway through. The tension is real.
The most danceable, fun part (imo) is the ending. Nothing to loud and crashy but patient, exploratory and free as hell until Marc announces the opening to ~>
'Basis'
Yes, it's 1.0 and this Basis is quick on the draw. A pretty lengthy drum n bass solo gets the party started. Superb drumming.
Once you hear that kick drum on blast, you know we're off.
Each bar that passes opens up the Ark of the Covenant just a little more. Momentum jams is one of tDB's greatest gift/motto/mission statement. There is no better band at knowing each others strengths and weaknesses.
For example, at around the 13 minute mark, they commence such a wonderful jam out of the ashes and a bass drum. Dynamite closing jam. Fn A!
'Shimmy' - I have to pimp up this version a little. It ends the show, standalone and pretty long. After the formalities, they are ready to roll at the halfway point.
An electronica jam starts the affair off nicely. Of course Mr. Mags is all over this section quite tastefully.
Closing jam is very good yet done a 100 times. Cheers for the keyboard action in this version.

[Brain Candy] 20-23%thc; no true consensus on who the parents are but it's a sativa leaning hybrid that will give you the 'ole perma-grin while opening your mind to ideas that were usually closed until cannabis entered your life. Strong and effective! Go get some, no regrets.
'Stoke The Fires Of Paradise With Coals From Hell To Start'
Love.

Track Notes
- S1Mindless Dribble
Settles into a type two theme almost immediately. Barber’s theme is so simple and effective, and perfectly complements Magner’s atmosphere. A breakdown and more tense theme lead into the Hot Air Balloon intro.
- S1Hot Air Balloon
There are several minutes of type one Hot Air Balloon shredding, which immediately segues into Dribble territory. Rather than segueing directly into the ending, the jam breaks down into a slow, dubby groove. This passage lasts several minutes before the band even begins to build back up to Dribble. A totally unique take on the Dribble ending.
- S2Little Shimmy In A Conga Line
Patient and evil, the sinister type one gives way to a triumphant major-mode theme before returning to Shimmy territory.
