The band mercifully wastes almost no time on the Aceetobee intro. The first jam is standard. The second doesn’t break any new ground, but it’s well executed and has a strong peak (even though there is some slop in the ending). Shelby is actually quite restrained in the first half of the jam, in contrast to the breakneck dnb from the previous night’s Svenghali. Barber hangs in the background and Magner confines himself to the rabbit hole synths, allowing the rhythm section to take the center of attention. The flute patch creeps in around the 6 minute mark, and Barber moves steadily into the foreground, as the band builds to the peak. Excellent build and excellent peak. Helicopters is yet another version that packs a surprising amount into a short timestamp. The jam has a driving energy throughout. The first half is a steady trance progression, and the second is a glorious crescendo. The first two jams in Jigsaw (pre-chase and trance) don’t really do anything for me. Both are on the shorter side and don’t really do anything interesting. The dub jam is much more enjoyable, with a cohesive theme throughout. The show closes with a very short Home Again.

2/5. Slightly stronger than the night before, and pound for pound probably the strongest of the four Lesh tour shows. Shelby and Helix are both short and sweet, and the Jigsaw dub jam is worth a listen.

Stray Observations: There is a Tunnel tease in Jigsaw Earth. After Jigsaw Earth, Brownie reveals that SPAC was the venue of his first concert, Men At Work. He announces that the band would close out with a Men At Work cover, reprising a joke from 4/14/01.
