<> R.I.P. MT Pub 2013 Great micro-brews<>

Sound: 8.5 / 10 (a few plug-outs, leaving Brownie to play root, 5, and 7.) Won't lie...a little annoying but it ain't nothin', we used to listen to 9th gen dolbied SBDs of Hot Tuna.

Set 1: 9.25 / 10 Holy MEMPHIS...Holy Boop!!(w. dropouts) as they psytrance like Greek Gods slowly climbing that mole hill then magnificently melt into virgin techno I-MAN!!!! (we shootin' lazers brah!) F-ME!

Set 2: 7.90 / 10 Sammy in Shem :) wow!....Shimmy = cocaine......MAGELLAN no words, just awe.

1st half of '99, especially as headliners with a good 2 to 3 hours to play = 10 / 10

Winter of '99 is when I knew I had become a full time 33rd degree Jackie Mason. Now look at what this band has done to me!

Track Notes

  • S1
    M.E.M.P.H.I.S.

A characteristically strong winter 1999 M.E.M.P.H.I.S. The jam begins with almost no synth presence, and for the first few minutes Barber is honing the riff that forms the backbone to the theme. After some sound dropouts in the only recording, Magner and Barber are linked up, with Magner's rabbit hole synths complementing Barber's simple riffs. They continue to push the jam forward, and around the seven minute mark Barber takes the lead, and pushes the jam very gradually to a thematic peak.

  • S1
    Little Betty Boop

Saammy's drumwork steadily moves this jam out of funk territory and towards trance, and by the 16-17 minute mark the band is fully locked into a trance theme. The easy highlight is the part from here to about 22:30, in which the band develops a fantastic blissful trance theme that builds to an uncomposed peak before breaking down into more tense exploration. The jam quickly resolves into an I-Man intro, and segues into the first ever Techno I-Man.
