Mulberry’s starts out with an attempt at branching out into type 2 jamming, but after a few short minutes, Marc falls on to the Catalyst theme like a crutch. This whole segment is unremarkable. Electric Slinky is not my favorite song. The 1st Crickets jam is one of those jams that would be more fun to see live. They jam the middle theme way too hard, and it never really progresses enough for my liking. I found the jam into 4th of July much more interesting, though it was short-lived. The jam back into Crickets isn’t horrible, but nothing good either. The second set was deeply underwhelming. The whole Clocks > Gangster > SBMC segment has such potential on paper. I liked the pre-Tractorbeam ambient jam here, but that’s literally it. Shimmy’s jam felt oddly short, and perhaps that’s because it was a lot of saying nothing. Frog Legs is one of my least favorite Biscuits songs, and while the jam into RLH is well-done, it’s not nearly long enough to be interesting.
