The On Time jam is exactly as predictable as it is 99% of the time. The jam in Munchkin is fairly long (about 16 minutes). However, there are very few points during this dozen plus minutes that I found myself really interested in what they were playing. Around the 17-minute mark they shift in directions a bit and it feels like they might actually be headed for the end of Munchkin, though obviously they do not. I-Man thankfully skips the usual short jam between chorus one and verse two. I quite enjoy the I-Man jam, even though it gets a little repetitive at times. I could do without the videogame samples here as I feel like they’re just thrown on top of an otherwise solid jam. They build a solid artificial peak near the end before headed to Boop. The Boop jam begins with the usual “blues” jam, but around the 7-minute mark Allen drops the four-on-the-floor beat and things markedly change. Magner switches from the Rhodes-y patches to more spacey, psychedelic fare. Unfortunately, they don’t flesh this portion out much before forcing in a Tricycle peak. The Story jam is the usual jam-funk stuff that just never gets old, ever. I’m kidding, of course. The Therapy jam gets fleshed out into a nice uptempo dance jam. I think Barber is a little more noodly here than I would like, but I generally enjoyed most of this. Mulberry’s is about as standard as it gets.

Highlights: I-Man, Therapy
