Happy Canada Day!!
I love it when they play better in Indy than the BIG ROTHBURY show the day after. Isn't it always the case!? Never miss an Indianapolis show. ~ Dynamite show. The Murat Temple is a classic spot. The '93 Phish show there was one of the best. Could this be the best show of the 2009 summer tour?
The 1st set is a dance party on the highest level. Ecstasy at every turn. The Rocka ~> Caterpillar is not stop tight jamming. Very focused and once the lyrics are done with expect 'A' level Bisco...it's that simple. That 1st Caterpillar jam is so fn' good. It's on a best of list somewhere. And it's loooong and loooooose and full of juice. Blissco? yes.
12:20 up a notch for the ending part, melting towards the Crix jam ahead......
another 13+ minutes of primo exploration. It gets real fast real quick with Mags' beautiful huge waves of sound covering it all while the other minions work underneath.
At 3:30 this Crix jam will get you out of your seat guaranteed. Then the mid tempo adventure starts while Barber gets downright loud and luscious ...who picked this perfect set!?? ~~>>
AC2B - damn! this train is a rollin'! they eventually find the correct tempo as they embark. they get into these whirlwinds where you're not quite sure if it's a psychedelic effect to the jam or they're just plain lost lol. They are magicians. No worries, they catch the tune again on the way back with fantastic funky over the top sweeps from Magner, and give it a good push towards and through to the other side where Caterpillar needs to finish up her expression...with a Kiss' "I was made for lovin' you" tease. Lots of great keyboards to finish up this fantastic set!!

Hope ~> TAlley -
"All the players have played, the beats have been made,
But my mind is still wired up electric parade"
ps - this show was mixed and edited by the hands of G-D. what sound!
The pullaway jam starts around 7 mins in and it's a very interesting path towards Talley. Allen's most technically adventurous part of the night imo but only he knows that. He is 100% the MVP of Hope.
T Alley - not the biggest fan of this tune. It never really takes me anywhere but some parts of the techno-funk are aight but a "better" partner for Hope could have been better but f that, they took the chance and that is all we can ask for :)
Reactor ~> - look out for dynamic soloing by Jon in this powerful ending jam(last 7 mins or so)....great stuff!!
Minions ~> - once you hear the silky smooth opening chords of Minions you just automatically feel good. This Minions has been recommended by me to several people who want a different yet equally moving version, I think this is one of the best alongside 2009-10-04 out of a 24 minute Hope. The final 4 mins or so jam is pretty repetitive and more of a rhythm piece than solos.
Orch is perfectly placed here. A great vehicle to awaken the masses and get butts moving at a fierce pace once again. A very good "typical 09 heater"
Moshi is fun to hear and just shows how ridiculously talented both Moshi and Fameus are lol.
dysl Digi Buddha ends the show in a pretty cool way through the encore.
ratings: 4.5/5 or 8.75/10 extra points for a nicely structured setlist! ~~
**The strain you will enjoy for this dance heavy show full 'o jams will help you retain the euphoric energy and stillness you need for the whole show.:::::: [MacFlurry] a very tasty hybrid made from Ice Cream Cake and MAC. Immediate blast from the first exhale. Nice comedown. "Dope will get you through times of no money better than money will get you through times of no dope." — Freewheelin' Franklin.
