[A conversation about the Disco Biscuits concert sound post performance (the music we take home in SBD form)

Music this good needs to be met with equal sonic integrity. Bad recordings make your mind wander and also make you leave the present moment, lastly it also degrades the quality of playing by sheer average musical representation.

Remember what Kahunaville summer 2001 sounded like pre-Steele remaster? It jumped 10 spots in the best of 2001 shows such as the others. Not to mention the Vic, Cat's Cradle and some others. WE ARE NOT OWED ANYTHING IN ANYWAY. But, if the band wanted to do like what Owsley's people are doing with his reels is accepting donations for the immensely expensive remastering projects to transfer into the digital realm. It can cost up to $500 to $1000 an hour. I don't need an accounting degree from Princeton to see the enormous cost versus the income coming later. Why bother with the gamble? Especially in this torrent / file sharing time and space. The answer is in our passion and promise to follow and support the band in every way until the day we die.

Anyway, the bottom line is that the love we have for the Biscuits is second to none....we are crazy people :)

Can a man not dream! Apologies for the somewhat ranty nature of these thoughts.

<> The Show <> In a monster summer, this would be an average show all things considered but there is magic indeed in these them there hills. i.e. the POWER opening duo of "Shimmy~>Spacebird~>Confrontation(><)" ! and the non-stop waves of magical space dust expressed as "Ladies jamout ~> Triumph ~> The Overture ~> Triumph" !

{A Pile - best of the night, monumental, a clear winner winner chicken dinner}:: Triumph(1,2); Shimmy(1); Confrontation(><) <- difficult to put in this category but after a few listens it just kills it emotionally, technically and in terms of set placement.

{B Pile - very good to excellent}:: Spacebird; HAB(1): Ladies; Overture(><); Jigsaw

{C Pile - OK to "going through the motions}:: Shimmy(2); HAB(2); Wet; Uber Glue; Home Again; Rivers

A solid: 7.75 / 10 show (IMO)
