Both jams in The Very Moon are predictable type 1 jams. The jam out of Safety Dance actually turns into a neat little minor key dance jam with some very techno-y tones from Magner. This gets really neat right before the drop into Rock Candy. The jam out of Rock Candy has a lot of potential but I feel like they get into the transition way too early. The jam back into Rock Candy suffers the same fate. Astronaut has a short type SITA jam, but the jam which follows it mostly solid. Magner busts out the pan flute patch for a bit, and the band jams on Gamma Goblins for a short while. There’s not really a “jam” into We’re Not Gonna Take It, though there is a very short jam into the beginning of Run Like Hell. If this had more room to breath it might have been alright. Instead this just is okay. Both of the RLH jams are pretty straightforward. Songs of Joy is jamless to end the set. Overture’s jam is only about 2 minutes, but I actually thought this worked well for what it was. Nothing earth-shattering, but well-played.
Highlights: Safety Dance, Astronaut (2), Overture
