Reactor to start the show is fine. See what I did there? The segue into Abraxas is telegraphed by several minutes, and this winds up feeling like a very long, drawn-out Abraxas “ending” jam. The jam out of Abraxas and back into Reactor is much better. This is very squarely inside the box, but solid regardless. Both TVM jams are straightforward.
Frog Legs is jamless. Story has a generic midtempo funk jam that is similar to a billion other Story jams. The Vassillios jam into Basis is very, very good. For those who enjoy the famous Bonnaroo ’08 Memphis first jam, this feels like a relative of that jam. Very spacey, very good stuff. Second jam is very solid as well, though this is more of just a straight up dance jam. Next up is Rock ‘n Roll Fantasy. Thankfully, this is the last time they played this. God it’s so bad. The jam also seems wholly unrelated to the song itself as this basically just turns into a generic Story jam. I don’t hate this Shelby encore, even if it’s a little forgettable. Had me bobbing my head enough to mark it as a highlight.
Highlights: Abraxas; Basis (Intro**, 2), Shelby
