Barber’s voice sounds awful. Jesus dude, cut down on the cigs. Anyway, Astronaut has a short SITA jam. Second Astronaut jam turns into a neat little dance jam. This is generally solid, but not something you’d need to re-listen. Same is true of Caterpillar and Pinball Wizard jams – these are all surface level stuff. The 42 jam has a very cool feel to it initially. Kinda dark, kinda mysterious. Unfortunately, this section is pretty short-lived and it gets far more generic headed back into Pinball Wizard. Abraxas is standard, jamless. This Basis intro is pretty good. Not great, but solid. Second jam is same story, different jam. Nice dance pocket going on here. The jam out of Cyclone is fine, but doesn’t move me too much. First Robots jam is about the typical Robots 1st jam. Second Robots jam I think is actually pretty good. Allen is on fire as always with these, but Magner has some great phrasing and use of neat patches. I liked it.
